CS Lewis once said that "grief is like the sky, it covers everything." In recent weeks, our family has found that this is so very true. It seems that there is no right or wrong way to travel this path of grief. I have created this blog in hopes that some day we will be able to look back on our journey and see written proof that our great God never leaves us. God is good all the time.

ONE MORE DAY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuE1XJ_uqOs

These two songs say everything that I wish to say today.
I've said, too many times to count in the last year, I just wish I could have one more day.  One more day to do things over.  One more day to have her close. One more day to live as if it were our last day with her

Now abide faith, hope, love, these three,
but the greatest of these is Love.
I Corinthians 13:13

  1. Jim, Karol, and Family,
We sure are thinking of you guys today and tomorrow and the following years to come. We miss watching dash to our house to see her hee-hees. We wish we could look out our window and see her running around in your yard. We are here if you need us.
We love you all so much.

  2. Not one word fits, eases, helps.

But I want to leave a few, just to say I am listening and WANT to listen. Your writing is not going into a void. Your words matter. Your family's agony is alive in my heart.

Many are mourning with you and are close by to be able to tell you they care. I am not there, near you, but I am here reading and crying my eyes out today because your little girl died.

Lord Jesus, please come for your people. The weight of living is crushing the life out of us. You must be the One bearing our inability, because we can't possibly take another step.

I'm sorry will never be enough. Oh, Laynee, if only you could come back.

  3. Dear Holmes Family,
We are thinking about you so much today. We wish so badly we could be out today playing with Laynee girl and her hee-hees. We have alot of carrots in our garden that Laynee fed to the horses last year on this very day. We wish she could be here with us today to feed the hee-hees.
We are always here if you need us.
We love you all so much.

I miss her so much. I want her so badly to be over here right now to watch her run around in our yard. I wish I could watch her pretty hair blow in the wind today. I am thinking about you guys and praying for you. I love you all so much.
