CS Lewis once said that "grief is like the sky, it covers everything." In recent weeks, our family has found that this is so very true. It seems that there is no right or wrong way to travel this path of grief. I have created this blog in hopes that some day we will be able to look back on our journey and see written proof that our great God never leaves us. God is good all the time.

I wish everyone knew

Another sleepless night.  I come to the computer and look through all the photo files of Laynee.  Hundreds and hundreds of pictures of sweet Laynee Grace.  I keep adding more pictures to this blog.  I want so much for everyone to know her.  Her smile, her silly antics, her out of control bed head, that she sucked on two fingers when she was tired, that she loved books with heehees and tractors.  I wish everyone knew my Laynee.

  1. Jim, Karol, and kids-
Last night as I looked at the full moon, I could see Laynee's pretty, smiling face looking
down on all those who loved her, especially her
family. Thanks for the blog and pictures. As the wind blows outside, I can see her pretty hair blowing - running alittle unsteady thru the yard to see the heehees across the street.
Chasing the ball up and down the driveway, but
careful not to run in the street. Karol, I did
love it when she would sit down when see saw you come to get her. I want to think that maybe she wanted to stay at my house just alittle longer. We can only thank God for the beautiful full memories of your precious angel and praise him for Hope. We want you to know that we are always there for you and pray for your family daily. We lift you up for his comfort, as only he can give.

    We Love You,
    Fern

  2. As one who did not have the privilege of meeting Laynee on this earth, I do so love all the pictures of her, seeing her sweet smile, her thoughtful glances, and the pure joy that emanates from her, no matter what the context of the picture. I wish I'd known her too.

  3. Karol,
Thanks for being willing to share your journal and pictures of Laynee thru this bog. I continue to ask the Lord to help you, Jim and the kids walk thru this process of grief. I am here to listen, pray and walk anytime you need it. I am trusting God to be with in everything.
    Love,

  4. Karol,
I count it a privilege that I knew her. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your pictures with us. I feel like everyone else, I want to help but just don't know what to do. I guess there's nothing we can do, but please know that you are in my prayers daily, sometimes multiple times a day. We love you
    all!
    Love,
    Paula

I don't think I've ever thought about Laynee or seen her pictures without smiling from ear to ear. I remember when she would come into Java Junction and get into EVERYTHING... but it was impossible to be upset with her because her face was pure joy. I'm so thankful that I was able to know her and I wish everyone in the world could have a little dose of Laynee to brighten their day.

    I love you all
